ZAMBIA—Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has appointed Josphat Mwangi as the new General Manager of its subsidiary, Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia.
This move underscores the company’s commitment to fostering internal leadership development.
Mwangi transitions to the Zambian team from Kenya, where he has served as the Commercial Director since June 2020. With over 21 years at Coca-Cola, Mwangi has held various senior positions in Finance, Sales, and Marketing.
His tenure in Kenya, one of CCBA’s largest and most dynamic markets, has been marked by strong and consistent performance, as well as the creation of a cohesive, committed, passionate, and engaged team.
Outside his professional achievements, Mwangi is known for his love of mountaineering, having summitted Mount Kenya, Kilimanjaro, and Imja Tse in Nepal.
Gavin Hudson, Chief Operating Officer of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, congratulated Mwangi on his appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the Zambian team successfully.
Hudson also extended his gratitude to Hugoh Ndudzo, who served as Acting General Manager in the interim, ensuring continuity and a smooth transition.
In related news, Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) recently appointed Rakesh Rajbally as its new Managing Director, effective February 1st.
Rajbally succeeds Velaphi Ratshefola, who retired at the end of January after seven years with the company.
Rajbally, a key architect of CCBSA’s strategic and operational customer management, has achieved a remarkable number-one ranking across FMCG companies in the Advantage survey for two consecutive years.
His 26 years of experience in General Management, Sales, Marketing, Logistics, and Finance within the Coca-Cola bottling system provide invaluable insights and leadership to the team.
Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU) has unveiled an advanced distribution system aimed at enhancing the efficiency and reach of its products across Uganda.
The new system leverages a network of Official Coca-Cola Distributors (OCCDs) and a user-friendly online platform designed to streamline operations and improve customer service.
The OCCD system allows distributors to track sales, access real-time data, and plan deliveries accurately. Additionally, the system enables daily performance tracking, allowing the sales and marketing team to provide timely support to OCCDs as needed.
