AFRICA – Coca-Cola Beverages Africa has introduced its latest offering, “Coca-Cola Wozzaah Zero Sugar,” a new flavor designed to embody the dynamic spirit of the African continent.
The limited-edition beverage is now available in select markets, including Nigeria, Algeria, South Africa, and Morocco.
The name “Wozzaah” is derived from the isiZulu term for “come here,” reflecting the inviting and energetic nature of the flavor.
Silke Bucker, senior director and Coca-Cola category lead for Africa, described the new creation as bold and unapologetic, qualities that resonate with the African spirit. “Out of all the Creations, I believe this is one that’s quite in your face, because that’s very true to the African spirit,” Bucker remarked.
According to CCBA, the entire experience, from taste to packaging and marketing, aims to celebrate Africa. The eye-catching can, designed by Kenyan illustrator Joy Richu, features a bold yellow and purple color scheme with accents of teal and Coca-Cola’s signature red.
Inside the can, the flavor aims to answer the intriguing question, “What does Africa taste like?” According to Bucker, the flavor experience is subjective, enhancing individual perceptions of Africa.
To celebrate the launch, Coca-Cola has partnered with notable African talents and brands. Eswatini musician Uncle Waffles is set to perform at a concert in Johannesburg, South Africa, and host the flavor’s digital experience, which includes customizable Snapchat lenses.
Additionally, the brand has collaborated with WafflesnCream, Nigeria’s first skateboarding company, to produce globally available merchandise.
