Chatha Foods, Frigorifico Allana form joint venture to expand meat, chicken products

INDIA – Indian food companies Chatha Foods and Frigorifico Allana have announced plans to establish a joint venture to manufacture and distribute ready-to-cook (RTC) and ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products.

The new partnership is focused on producing, processing, storing, freezing, and selling these products to both local and international markets, according to a filing with the stock exchange.

Additionally, the joint venture will handle the transportation and distribution of the products, ensuring efficient logistics and delivery.

Chatha Foods will hold a majority share in the venture, owning 70%, while Frigorifico Allana will control 30%.

The companies say the collaboration will help them improve their market position and provide consumers with more innovative options.

Paramjit Singh Chatha, the chairman and managing director of Chatha Foods, stated that the partnership will help the companies strengthen their presence in the food sector and reach new milestones.

The partners plan to construct a processing plant with an annual production capacity of 6,000 metric tons (mt) of RTC/RTE meat and 4,500mt of chicken products.

This plant will be located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, and will operate under the name Allana CF Foods.

The facility is expected to begin operations by October this year, or possibly earlier, as indicated by a LinkedIn post from Chatha Foods.

The joint venture’s board will consist of three directors, with two appointed by Chatha Foods and one by Frigorifico Allana.

The companies have confirmed that there are no conflicts of interest arising from this collaboration.

Chatha Foods will oversee the construction, launch, and operations of the plant, as well as ensure that all internal systems and processes are in place.

Frigorifico Allana is a well-known company for its processing and export of frozen and chilled meat products, particularly for international markets.

Chatha Foods specializes in producing and distributing poultry, focusing on RTC and RTE chicken and meat products for domestic and export markets.

This joint venture marks a significant step for both companies as they expand their footprint in the growing global market for meat and poultry products.
