Checkers & Rally’s partners with McLane in distribution deal

USA- Drive-through restaurant chain Checkers & Rally’s has entered a distribution partnership with McLane Company to enhance its operational efficiency in the US.

The partnership is intended to enhance the restaurant chain’s cost-effectiveness and expand its reach across the US as it pursues its long-term growth. It will aid the chain in ensuring timely deliveries, improve order fill rates, support promotions and limited time offers as well as maintaining logistical standards and cold chain facilities.

The restaurant chain revealed it plans to leverage McLane’s longstanding reputation in the freight and logistics sector, investments in modern technology and operational efficiency to achieve these objectives.

Christopher Ward Checkers & Rally’s Chief Supply Chain Officer said, “McLane is a trusted partner that will be instrumental in streamlining our distribution operations and creating substantial savings across our 800 locations.

We believe this is an important step forward in setting the company up for long-term growth and success, and we look forward to our partnership.”

McLane has an impressive network of 80 distribution centers and a modern freight fleet. The distribution company makes routine delivery in every zip code in the country.

The distribution company welcomed the move, highlighting the two companies’ vision alignment.

Susan Adzick, McLane’s President, said, “McLane is honoured for the opportunity to serve Checkers and Rally, both exceptional brands that align with our business philosophy and people-first attitude.”

“Our teammates deliver excellence for our customers every day, and I’m confident we will do great work together.”

The partnership marks a significant shift in Checkers & Rally’s operational and growth strategy, which focused on product diversification and the deployment of AI and cloud computing technologies in its operations.

The paradigm shift was influenced by the resignation of former CEO Frances Allen in April. The company has also faced significant demand challenges in the past few months due to increase in costs, fueled by high inflation and disruptions in the global supply chain.

Through the partnership, Checkers & Rally’s hopes for a customer-centric strategy, prioritizing enhanced access in the US as a means of fueling growth, especially in highly populated areas like California, Arizona, and the East Coast.
