SOUTH AFRICA – Checkers,  a FMCG retailer owned by Shoprite  has recently introduced an addition to its lineup with the launch of the Foodie! Range.

According to the company’s statement, this new line of products is aimed at igniting culinary creativity in every home kitchen.

The new private label offering has an extensive selection of flavor-enhancing sauce bases, pastes, marinades, cook-in sauces, soups, and ready-made meals inspired by various culinary traditions from around the world.

According to a press release, Checkers recognizes the growing trend of consumers turning to private-label brands for their trusted quality and affordability.

The new Foodie! range joins Checkers’ well-established product lines such as the award-winning Forage and Feast, the healthier alternative Simple Truth, and the popular kiddies’ favorite Oh My Goodness!.

Among the highlights of the Foodie! range are versatile flavor bases like Harissa Paste, Butter Curry, Shakshuka, Peri Peri, Thai Curry, and Lemon and Herb.

Cook-in sauces inspired by diverse regions such as China, Portugal, South Africa, and India are also available, including options like Korma, Trinchado, Cape Malay, and Sweet and Sour.

Fresh sauces to elevate meat, pasta, and vegetable dishes are offered in a variety of flavors including Teriyaki, Mushroom, Cheese, Pepper, Napolitana, and Creamy Tomato.

The range also includes a selection of soups such as Gazpacho, Minestrone, Pea and Ham, and Cashew Nut and Chicken.

For those seeking ready-made meal solutions, Foodie! offers single-serving options like Chicken Pad Thai, Lamb Moussaka, Prawn Moqueca, and Spicy Beef Rice Bowl, as well as family-size meals including Chicken Burrito Bake, Baked Loaded Mac & Cheese, and Beef Bourguignon.

Additionally, the range includes convenient two-pack options like Pork Pies and Margherita Pizza.

Checkers plans to expand the Foodie! range in the coming months with the introduction of more pasta and grocery items currently in development.
