UK – Clearly drinks, a Sunderland based soft drink manufacturer has invested an undisclosed amount in flavored water brand Revilution Waves, reports Insider.

Revolution Waves was established in 2017 by entrepreneur and former international rugby player Charlie Simpson-Daniel and Dan Norton and is now listed in more than 100 UK schools, as well as regional Tesco and Asda stores.

The firm produces a range of four core flavours of raspberry, cherry, cranberry and lemon and lime in 500ml bottles, aiming to promote a healthier lifestyle with its sugar-free, low calorie recipes.

Commenting on the invetsment, Simpson-Daniel added: “I’m absolutely delighted with the investment Clearly Drinks has made in Revolution Waves. The firm has an incredibly passionate team and we have a shared vision to take the brand to the next level.”

The investment will support the private equity backed Clearly Drinks in expanding its national portfolio of successful and differentiated brands in the water segment following NorthEdge Capital’s investment in 2017.

Mick Howard, chief executive of Clearly Drinks, said: “We’re extremely pleased to welcome Revolution Waves to the Clearly Drinks brand having worked with them for three years.

“Charlie and the team have done a fantastic job in promoting the brand in the UK and its dedication to giving back to education is something that we really admire.

“We intend to continue the hard work over the coming months and expand the product reach even further than before.”

Lloyd Williams, director at NorthEdge Capital, added: “Revolution Waves is a great fit for Clearly Drinks and complements the existing brand base well.

“NorthEdge are keen to continue to back the strategic vision of the team at Clearly Drinks and remain committed to investing further in acquiring brands which fit with the culture, ethos and unique proposition that the company has developed.”

Clearly Drinks has set its sights on further growth. Over the past one year, Clearly Drinks has invested in talent across the business with 37 new roles introduced, bringing the firm’s headcount to 113.

Cleraly Drinks is also developing three commercial channels; a contract division for independent organisations, own label products for major retailers and its own brand products such as Perfectly Clear and Upstream, which is a flavoured soft drink.
