USA – Clemens Food Group, a US-based pork producer, has recently completed the acquisition of Kunzler & Company, a local peer, marking a significant expansion for the company.

With this acquisition, Clemens is set to integrate three additional processing facilities into its existing portfolio.

Among these facilities, one is situated in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, while the remaining two are located in Tyrone township within the same state.

Maintaining continuity, Clemens has affirmed its commitment to continuing the production and offering of products under the Kunzler brand.

Brad Clemens, president of Clemens Food Group, elaborated on the decision to acquire Kunzler, highlighting the esteemed reputations both companies have earned within the industry for consistently providing high-quality offerings to consumers.

While financial specifics of the deal remain undisclosed, Clemens has emphasized the strategic significance of the acquisition, citing shared core values and a mutual dedication to delivering top-quality products.

Established in 1895, Clemens Food Group stands as a sixth-generation, family-owned entity with its headquarters based in Hatfield, Pennsylvania.

With a workforce exceeding 5,000 employees, Clemens proudly asserts its position as the fifth-largest pork processor in the United States.

The company boasts ownership of several prominent pork meat brands, including Hatfield, Farm Promise, Premium Reserve, and Prima Porta.

Last year, Clemens made headlines with the sale of one of its factories to Godshall’s Quality Meats, a US-based turkey bacon producer.

This strategic move aligned with Clemens’ ongoing efforts to streamline its operations while contributing to the growth and diversification of other industry players.

In terms of financial performance, Clemens Food Group has maintained a steady trajectory, reporting an annual revenue of $1.55 billion in 2024.

Meanwhile, Kunzler & Company specializes in the production of hot dogs, Lebanon bologna, bacon, ham, and various other meat products, boasting an estimated annual sales figure of $150 million.
