US – Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, the second-largest privately held Coca-Cola bottler in North America, has opened a new US$65 million sales center in Tifton, Georgia in an effort to expand its distribution capabilities.

According to Coca-Cola United, the facility is home to the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment used in the beverage industry.

The 343,000-square-foot facility is under the management of Tifton Coca-Cola Bottling Company, a sales and distribution center of Coca-Cola United.

It includes a warehouse, fleet shop, administrative offices, and meeting space for both Coca-Cola associates and customers.

John Sherman, Coca-Cola United President and CEO noted that the facility represented the company’s continued commitment to the state of Georgia.

“In the past five years, we have invested more than US$200 million in the state of Georgia,” said Sherman.

“This facility reflects how we conduct our business, staying focused on what is most important – our associates, our customers and our communities.”

The Tifton facility serves more than 3,100 customers throughout South Georgia and the Florida Panhandle and refreshes some 600,000 consumers annually with beverages from the expansive Coca-Cola portfolio.

The facility which employs about 275 people serves 21 counties in South Georgia and three counties along the Florida Panhandle.

New Coke formats to launch as part of global innovation platform

Earlier, Coca-Cola unveiled its new global innovation platform, Coca-Cola Creations which aims to take the iconic Coca-Cola trademark and lend it to new expressions, driven by collaboration, creativity and cultural connections.

Through limited-edition, sequential releases, Coca-Cola Creations- developed under the “Real Magic” brand platform – will introduce new products and experiences across physical and digital worlds.

The first product to launch under Coca-Cola Creations is Coca-Cola Starlight, created with the vision that – in a world of infinite possibilities – somewhere in our universe, another kind of Coca-Cola, another way of connecting with each other might exist.

Coca-Cola Starlight reportedly combines great Coca-Cola taste with a dash of the unexpected, including a reddish hue.

Its taste includes additional notes reminiscent of stargazing around a campfire, as well as a cooling sensation that evokes the feeling of a cold journey to space.

Coca-Cola Starlight is available for a limited time beginning Feb. 21 across North America and in select countries globally in the coming months in zero-sugar only.

Later this year, Coca-Cola will introduce additional limited-edition Coca-Cola Creations featuring unique innovations and unexpected collaborations.
