USA – Colorado Premium, a leading protein processor catering to retailers, restaurant chains, and meal delivery services, has announced the inauguration of its third processing facility, strategically located in Greeley, Colorado.
The 175,000-square-foot facility marks a significant milestone for the company as it specializes in fully-cooked sous vide proteins, a culinary technique gaining popularity for its ability to deliver consistently high-quality, flavorful products at scale.
Dan LaFleur, the President of Colorado Premium, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting its customers’ growth initiatives through culinary and manufacturing expertise.
The new facility, situated at 2400 West 29th Street in Greeley, is equipped with capabilities for searing, par frying, and sous vide cooking across various protein types.
When fully operational, the plant is expected to employ up to 275 workers, providing a boost to the local economy.
Zack Henderson, Chief Revenue Officer of Colorado Premium, highlighted the company’s dedication to innovation in collaboration with customers.
“We have a dynamic development team that works in collaboration with our customers to develop innovative new product options that meet the evolving culinary preferences of their consumers,” he stated.
Sous vide cooking involves vacuum-sealing food and cooking it in a precisely regulated water bath, offering unique results not achievable through traditional cooking methods.
The technique has gained traction among restaurant operators looking to maintain high-quality standards with reduced reliance on backhouse labor.
Colorado Premium’s new plant, situated on a 20-acre site purchased in 2022 and configured for sous vide and raw processing production lines expands the company’s capacity for meeting the evolving demands of the market.
The company’s headquarters and main production facility remain in Greeley, with an additional processing facility in Denver.
Currently employing more than 700 workers, Colorado Premium plays a crucial role in the meat processing industry, supplying a range of products including cut meats, raw marinated meats, fresh ground beef, corned beef, and cooked meats.
Dan LaFleur expressed gratitude for the support from the Greeley community, praising the region’s positive business environment created by elected officials and city staff.
The opening of the new sous vide processing facility aligns with Colorado Premium’s strategic vision to thrive in a dynamic culinary landscape and contribute to the economic development of Northern Colorado.
