USA – Constellation Brands has launched new ready-to-drink Chelada, Modelo Chelada Limón y Sal, expanding its Modelo beer brand in the United States.
The new addition is made with Mexican beer and the refreshing natural flavor of lime and salt to provide a new, convenient way to enjoy the classic Chelada experience.
It joins other variants under the Modelo Chelada portfolio which includes classic Modelo Chelada Especial and sweet and spicy Modelo Chelada Tamarindo Picante.
It is available in 24 oz. cans nationwide, has an ABV of 3.5%, offering a smooth and refreshing citrus flavor experience to beer lovers.

Originally from Mexico, Chelada tend to feature juices, sauces and spices mixed with beer to create a beer cocktail.
According to Constellation Brands, the Chelada segment in the U.S has grown 11% while Modelo Chelada’s are up 51% in volume growth, and account for almost 90% of the segment growth.
The company said the newest innovation, Modelo Chelada Limón y Sal will continue to drive Modelo’s overall brand growth.
The launch will be supported by a comprehensive POS tool kit, sampling programs and Spanish language TV and digital advertising.
Constellation Brands acquired the Grupo Modelo in 2013 with exclusive rights to import, market and sell Corona and the Modelo brands.
The company recently acquired a minority stake in craft spirits maker Black Button Distilling.
In the third quarter results, Constellation brands recorded a 9.5% rise in net sales, 0.4% rise in net sales for its wine and spirits segment, while the beer division grew 16%.
