NETHERLANDS – Dutch food and biochemicals company, has announced three strategic new appointments to its Algae Ingredients team in a bid to accelerate the company’s expansion into the growing algae-fed seafood market.
The algae ingredients manufacturer for aquaculture feeds has appointed Ruud Peerbooms as President of Algae Ingredients and a member of the Corbion Executive team and further brought in Geir Ivar Lanes and Paula Arriagada Strodthoff as Senior Business Development Managers.
The company said that the new leadership and team members will accelerate adoption of its algae omega-3 feed ingredient, AlgaPrime DHA, in established and new markets
Corbion added that the expanded team will continue to lead business development and innovation with customers and farmers internationally and further accelerate adoption and commercialization of omega-3 ingredients in the shrimp, marine fish, pet and livestock markets.
In his new role, Ruud Peerbooms, Corbion’s new President of Algae Ingredients will drive strategic initiatives to expand the company’s algae business, including overseeing the company’s partnerships for the development of the next generation of algae ingredients.
Ruud has spent most of his career in commercial roles in the specialty food ingredients industry, and joined Corbion in 2014 as Senior Vice President of Food.
Geir Ivar Lanes, who was named as Senior Business Development Manager will lead the application of Corbion’s AlgaPrime DHA ingredient in salmonid feed. The company noted that his work will encompass nearly all technical aspects of the aquaculture industry supporting customers both in Norway and internationally.
Additionally, as the company’s new Senior Business Development Manager, Paula Arriagada Strodthoff will lead Corbion’s AlgaPrime DHA work with salmon farmers and feed companies in Chile.
