UGANDA – Crown Beverages Limited (CBL), Uganda’s oldest beverages company, and PepsiCo bottler, has officially launched the popular 7UP carbonated soft drink in the Ugandan beverage market.
This addition expands CBL’s diverse portfolio of carbonated soft drinks, which already includes renowned brands such as Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Mirinda Fruity, and Evervess Tonic, among others.
7UP is a global brand that has been enjoyed by millions of consumers in over 200 countries for more than 90 years.
The introduction of 7UP, a well-known soda brand owned by the beverage giant PepsiCo, strengthens CBL’s presence and provides consumers with another refreshing beverage option.
To celebrate the launch in Uganda, 7UP is introducing a new brand identity with the expression ‘say hello to 7UP’.
The fresh visual identity system features the brand’s signature green color but with added citrus hues and distinct high-contrast lines that portray a feeling of upward energy. The new design will be visible on the 7UP bottles, various marketing materials, and activations.
7UP is also launching a multi-touchpoint sampling campaign across bars, restaurants, and streets, starting from 9th Feb 2024. According to CBL, the campaign will showcase how 7UP can bring moments of upliftment, positivity, and surprise to people’s lives in unexpected ways.
Rogers Anguzu, commercial manager at CBL, commented: “We are thrilled to bring 7UP to Uganda, a country with a vibrant and dynamic culture. We hope that 7UP will become a beloved brand in Uganda and inspire people to enjoy the deliciously uncomplicated taste of 7UP and the moments of upliftment it brings.”
7UP is now available in Uganda in 300ml and 500ml PET bottles.
Last year, CBL inaugurated a US$76 million plant as part of its US$90 million expansion project aimed at meeting new demand and product portfolio expansion.
In November 2022, CBL unveiled Aquafina, its new brand of bottled drinking water, becoming the third franchise in Africa to be allowed by PepsiCo International to bottle the Aquafina brand, after Nigeria and Egypt.
