USA – Dairy farmers America, the largest supplier of raw milk worldwide and the third-largest global dairy company, has announced the 2022 CoLAB Accelerator program to support innovation in the dairy sector.

CoLAB Accelerator is a 90-day collaborative program focused on dairy product and processing innovations and new technologies for dairy farms.

The program will enable startups to gain an understanding of the dairy industry and have the opportunity to work with executives from DFA and other relevant investors and dairy industry leaders.

A startup with nutrient management solution for agricultural wastewater is among those selected to participate in the 2022 DFA CoLAB Accelerator program.

Other solutions include an in vitro fertilization (IVF) technology for the farm and a new caffeinated high protein chocolate milk beverage for adults.

“It’s always exciting to welcome a new class of startups into our CoLAB Accelerator program as these companies bring fresh thinking and ideas to benefit our farm family-owners and help further grow and invigorate the dairy case,” The director of cultural innovation Doug Dresslaer said.

The DFA team strives to simply do right because it’s the right thing to do,” general manager Ken Kaneversky pointed out. Doing right, making ice cream, and enjoying a work-life balance is what it’s all about,” he added.

Those companies participating in the program will be advised and also take part in educational sessions concerning the importance of startup growth.

The program will majorly focus on areas of finance, business development, distribution and supply chain, product development, brand building, sales and marketing, packaging, and pricing.

Dairy Farmers of America recently acquired the former Dean Foods plant in St. George’s Fort Pierce Industrial Park which produces nearly 2 million gallons of packaged ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sherbets every month.

These products are distributed under the Meadow Gold Dairy label, a Dairy Farmers of America regional brand, as well as private customer labels.

Dairy Farmers of America took control of many Dean Foods assets after the now-defunct milk giant declared bankruptcy in 2019.

The cooperative is currently in search of an incredible team to deliver delicious, nutritious dairy to consumers nationwide, offering great benefits and pay to its employees at St. George manufacturing plant.

Dairy Farmers of America is grounded in farmer ownership and is always looking for new ways to grow and invest for the benefit of all participating farms owned by 12,500 family farmers from across the country.
