Danone debuts three healthy aging nutritional products in China

French multinational food-products corporation, Danone, has launched a set of three healthy aging nutritional products in China via online channels meant to be taken at three different times of the day.

Launched through Tmall and Douyin –the China version of TikTok, the product includes a probiotics fiber powder drink for gut and immune health to be consumed at 7 am, and a multi-protein powder drink for mobility at 2 pm.

The company added that the evening powder drink for sleep and brain health can be taken at 9 pm.

Sold under the name ‘Ganmai’ (敢迈) which means daring to take a step out, the product line “advocates the spirit of taking a challenge and accepting new things”, according to the firm.

Danone noted that the products use a mix of pre/probiotics, collagen peptide, GABA, spine date seed, L-leucine, etc.

For instance, the company said Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BB-12 and Lactobacillus paracasei 431 were used in the 7 am Probiotics Fiber Powder Drink. Other ingredients include prebiotic fibers, acerola cherry, and honey.

In the 2 pm product, Multi Protein Light Drink focuses on mobility, ingredients such as whey protein isolate, L-leucine, vitamin D, calcium, and collagen peptide were used.

While the 9 pm Nutritional Evening Drink for sleep and brain health contains GABA, spine date seed, and fish oil.

All three products are made in China and can be purchased from the online platforms that were used in the launch.

 

Country Crock launches plant-based plant cream

Country Crock, an Upfield food brand known for its buttery spreads, has extended its dairy-free product line with the debut of Plant Cream, a plant-based alternative to traditional heavy whipping cream.

According to the brand, the new Plant Cream offers a versatile substitute that can be swapped 1:1 with dairy cream in any cooking or baking recipe.

Made to add richness and depth to a wide variety of foods, the Plant Cream has 29% less saturated fat than dairy whipping cream, is soy-free, and is certified plant-based by The Plant-Based Foods Association.

The product, which Country Crock said provides a “no-sacrifice” dairy replacement, is now available nationwide in the US at Kroger.

The products will also be supplied soon to Publix and regional retailers Albertsons, Safeway, Price Chopper, and United Supermarkets.
