DENMARK – Danish Crown, a leading global meat processor, has announced the appointment of Niels Duedahl as its new chief executive officer. 

Duedahl is set to take over the role of group CEO on September 2, 2024, succeeding Jais Valeur, who has decided to step down after guiding the company through a significant period of development.

Duedahl brings a wealth of experience to Danish Crown, having previously held leadership positions at the LEGO Group and serving as the CEO of the energy company Norlys. 

His career spans various sectors, including finance and manufacturing, and he holds an academic background in economics.

Reflecting on his new role, Duedahl described the opportunity to lead Danish Crown as one he couldn’t pass up, citing the company’s ongoing transformation as a challenge he is eager to tackle. 

“Throughout my career, I’ve been involved in major transformation processes, and I am committed to establishing the leadership needed to drive the necessary changes forward,” he stated. 

Duedahl also emphasized his commitment to securing competitive returns for the cooperative’s farmer owners and fostering a workplace that attracts top talent.

Danish Crown, headquartered in Denmark, operates internationally within the food industry, with a focus on the processing and sale of pork and beef. 

The company’s extensive reach includes various food products distributed through its numerous subsidiaries.
