CANADA – PepsiCo and Danone have entered a long-term agreement which will make PepsiCo Beverages Canada to be the exclusive distributor Evian natural spring water in Canada.
The exclusive alliance was made between PepsiCo’s division, PepsiCo Beverages Canada, and Danone Waters of America, the US and Canadian importer and distributor of bottled water brand Evian.
As part of the agreement, as of 1 January 2021, PepsiCo Beverages Canada will sell, distribute and merchandise Evian across Canada.

“Their extensive direct-to-store delivery system, strong selling capabilities and a complementary brand portfolio will undoubtedly increase Evian’s ability to serve our business partners who want to offer Canadian consumers an exceptional natural spring water.”

According to the companies, the move will further increase the distribution of Evian and accelerate the brand’s growth. PepsiCo’s presence in all key channels will reportedly allow Evian to expand its consumer reach both in retail and foodservice segments.

This alliance plays an important role in PepsiCo’s overall hydration strategy and enables us to use our distribution networks and sales capabilities to accelerate the growth of Evian in the Canadian marketplace,” PepsiCo Beverages Canada president, Richard Glover, said.
Earlier this year, Evian announced that its operations had been certified as carbon neutral by the Carbon Trust. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
PepsiCo’s presence in key channels will enable Evian to further reach consumers in both the retail and foodservice segments.
This comes days after PepsiCo announced that it is targeting a 2030 goal of using 100% renewable electricity across its entire company-controlled operations, and the same for its franchise and third-party operations by 2040.
PepsiCo said that the move could potentially reduce 2.5 million metric tons of GHG emissions by 2040, or the equivalent of removing more than half a million cars from the road for an entire year.
