Daybreak Foods engages University of Limpopo students

SOUTH AFRICA – Daybreak Foods has initiated its Career Fair Tour with an event at the University of Limpopo, where company representatives engaged with students interested in exploring various career opportunities within the company. 

The fair attracted a diverse group of students from fields such as agriculture, food science, and business operations, who were eager to learn about the potential career paths available at Daybreak Foods. 

Company representatives provided insights into the organization’s culture, values, and career prospects, emphasizing the dynamic nature of the poultry industry and the potential for growth within the company.

The career fair comes on the heels of a significant recognition for Daybreak Foods’ CEO, Richard Manzini, who was recently named Businessman of the Year at the BBQ Awards, South Africa’s prestigious awards ceremony that honors excellence in black business leadership. 

The accolade is a testament to Manzini’s leadership and the hard work of Daybreak Foods’ employees, who have been instrumental in the company’s recent successes.

Manzini was among ten finalists recognized by the BBQ Awards for their contributions to strategy, operations, leadership, and transformation across South Africa. 

The BBQ Awards have long been a benchmark for corporate excellence, celebrating leaders who demonstrate strong governance and notable achievements in the business sector.

Under Manzini’s leadership, Daybreak Foods has experienced a significant turnaround over the past year. 

The company has faced and addressed challenges such as Avian Influenza, rising feed costs, and frequent load shedding, which had previously tarnished its reputation. 

Through strategic initiatives, Manzini has stabilized operations, attracted high-caliber talent, regained the trust of stakeholders, and restored relationships with key customers, all while preserving over 3,300 jobs during a challenging economic period.
