Desi Daru expands beyond UK with South Asian, Middle Eastern market entry

The British-Indian vodka brand partners with Dhall Foods and Beverages to launch in India, UAE, Sri Lanka, and other key regions.

ASIA – British-Indian vodka brand Desi Daru is set to expand beyond the UK as part of its global growth strategy.

The brand has partnered with Dhall Foods and Beverages, an Indian importer and distributor of premium spirits, to introduce its products in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Pakistan.

Since launching in 2022, Desi Daru has gained recognition for its The Original English winter wheat vodka and Alphonso Mango Vodka, crafted with Indian Ratnagiri mangoes.

With this new agreement, Dhall Foods and Beverages will manage the distribution of Desi Daru’s vodkas across South Asia and the Middle East.

“Our brand celebrates the fusion of British and Indian cultures, using the best ingredients from both regions,” said Mohit Singh, founder of Desi Daru.

“As British-born Indians, we are excited to introduce our products to these markets. Working with Charter Brands’ incubator program led us to Dhall Foods and Beverages, whose extensive experience in premium spirits distribution makes them the perfect partner for our expansion.”

Singh emphasized the strong market potential in these regions, citing a growing demand for high-quality spirits.

Arjun Dhall, executive director of Dhall Foods and Beverages, added: “Desi Daru is redefining the industry with its unique vodkas. We are proud to bring these exceptional spirits to consumers in India, UAE, Sri Lanka, and beyond.”

The brand has experienced a successful run in the UK, securing listings with major retailers such as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Master of Malt, and Amathus Drinks. It has also gained presence in high-end London bars and restaurants, including Benares and The May Fair.

In 2024, Desi Daru received multiple industry accolades, including the Vodka Brand of the Year award at The Spirits Business Awards.

Last month, the brand strengthened its leadership team by appointing Amit Nakrani as its strategic operations and technology partner, further supporting its expansion efforts.
