INDIA – DeVANS Modern Breweries Ltd, a prominent name in the alcobev industry, has announced plans to significantly expand its portfolio with a wide range of new products.
This extensive lineup includes two new expressions of its single-malt brand GianChand, a premium gin, a blended premium whisky, vodka, and a range of ready-to-drink (RTD) offerings.
The expansion is part of the company’s broader strategy to diversify its product range and tap into new market segments.
In an interview with ETRetail, DeVANS’ Chairman and Managing Director Prem Dewan outlined the company’s roadmap for the upcoming launches. Dewan revealed plans to introduce two matured and distinctive expressions of the single-malt GianChand, slated for release later this year.
“Plans have also been finalized to enter the duty-free market with all expressions of our Single Malts in December,” he stated.
Additionally, DeVANS is set to launch a cask-strength single malt in 2025, followed by wine-cask-finished single malts in 2026.
DeVANS is also preparing to enter the premium gin segment in April 2025. Initially, the small-batch gin will be rolled out in select markets, including Delhi, Goa, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttaranchal.
By late next year, the company aims to add a blended premium whisky and a premium vodka to its portfolio, further broadening its offerings in the premium segment.
Aiming to capture a share in the fast-growing RTD market, DeVANS is putting up a dedicated RTD bottling line at its distillery in Samba, Jammu and Kashmir, which was commissioned recently.
Dewan explained that the RTD products, featuring new flavors, will debut in regions like Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Goa, with plans for gradual expansion across India.
The company’s growth extends beyond product launches. Dewan noted, “Our beer sales by volume have grown by about 60 percent in the first half of this year, and we expect this momentum to continue.”
The company has also diversified its Six Fields beer brand, adding Six Fields Pilsner and Six Fields Brute to its existing wheat beer lineup. DeVANS’ beer portfolio is currently available in over 20 states across India.
DeVANS’ international footprint has been steadily expanding, with the company exporting its beers to markets like the US, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, UAE, Bahrain, and Oman.
Export volumes have increased by approximately 20 percent annually, signaling strong overseas demand for its products.
In addition to the product expansions, DeVANS recently strengthened its pan-India presence through a partnership with a brewery in Assam.
The collaboration has bolstered DeVANS’ production capacity to 190,600 kilolitres, enabling the company to produce an additional one million cases annually.
