Devans Modern Breweries expands production with new Assam partnership

INDIA – Devans Modern Breweries, a leading Indian alcobev company, has expanded its pan-India operations by forming a production partnership with a major brewery in Assam.  

While the identity of the brewery remains undisclosed, this new collaboration aims to boost the company’s production capacity to meet increasing demand for its beers across India. 

The expansion into Assam follows previous successful partnerships in Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.  

Through this latest move, Devans’ overall production capacity will rise to 190,600 kilolitres (KL), allowing for the manufacture of an additional 10 lakh (1 million) cases annually. 

Commenting on the new development, Prem Dewan, Chairman and Managing Director of Devans Modern Breweries, said, “Assam represents a vibrant market with immense growth potential in the brewing industry. He added that the expansion into Assam marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to deliver high-quality beverages to Indian consumers. 

Founded in 1961 by Dewan Gian Chand, Devans Modern Breweries has become renowned for producing popular beer brands such as Godfather, Six Fields, and Kotsberg.  

The company operates two breweries in Rajasthan and Jammu and has continued to innovate by launching new products designed to appeal to Indian tastes.  

Devans is also set to introduce a premium craft gin and additional expressions of its single malt GianChand whisky, further enhancing its diverse portfolio. 

In 2023, Devans expanded its premium lager segment with the launch of Six Fields Brute and Six Fields Pilsner, catering to a wide range of consumer preferences.  

The company currently operates in 18 states across India and exports its products to several international markets, including New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and the UAE.
