UK – Diageo has launched a 13% ABV dairy-free version of its Baileys liqueur in the UK, which is made from almond milk.

This vegan-friendly version of the signature Baileys drink is called Baileys Almande, and has been being introduced to the UK following the success of the drink with US consumers.

According to FoodBev, Baileys Almande replaces the cream in its traditional Baileys drink with almond milk, almond oil and vanilla essence creating a “smooth, nutty flavour”.

“Baileys is one of the UK’s most-loved spirits brands and we wanted to create an indulgent treat that can be enjoyed by those who either cannot or choose not to have dairy in their diets,” said Laura Pearce, Baileys marketing director at Diageo.

“Since Baileys Almande launched in the US, we have been inundated with requests over here, so we’re delighted to be bringing Baileys Almande to the UK!”

Baileys is often considered the Irish cream coffee liquor, adored for being a creamy drink that also takes the edge off, especially during winter.

The company previously released an almond-milk based Baileys beverage, that one was sweetened with honey and contained beeswax, according to Live Kindly.

“We are excited to welcome spring with Baileys Almande, which offers the same quality and delicious flavour that people love about Baileys, but now in a dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan option that we know many are thrilled to enjoy,” said Alex Tomlin, SVP of Scotch Whisky & Reserve Brands at Diageo North America.

“Baileys Almande is dairy-free and vegan-friendly, but very much not free from naughty, delicious indulgence.

All the deliciousness of Baileys without the dairy,” said Waitrose.

The drink is exclusively available in the UK from Whole Foods in 700ml bottles with a suggested retail price of US$19.88
