SCOTLAND – World’s leading spirits producer Diageo has unveiled the Johnnie Walker Black Label Origin Series range featuring a blend of whisky from four Scottish regions.

The new range comes in four variants comprising of Islay, Highlands, Lowlands and Speyside Origin and aimed at celebrating whisky inspirations from Scotland.

The new collection includes 12-year-old blended Scotch whiskies made with single malts from some of the world’s most famous Scottish distilleries to achieve distinct flavour profiles of the four corners of Scotland.

Crafted in line with Black Label brand of whisky, each scotch is crafted using whiskies from a particular region, giving whisky fans the opportunity to discover and explore the wide array of flavours from Scotland.

Consumers will be able to enjoy new blends including the fruity flavours of Speyside whisky, the rich characteristics of Highlands scotch, the sweet notes of the Lowland region whiskies and the smoky finish of Islay malts.

“The Johnnie Walker Black Label Origin Series has been crafted to help people to discover and explore the distinct flavour profiles of the four corners of Scotland,” said John Williams, Johnnie Walker global brand director.

“At Johnnie Walker, we have access to an unparalleled range of fantastic single malts and this collection will be of particular interest to anybody who wants a greater understanding of how our small team of expert whisky-makers craft and balance those distinct flavour profiles to make Johnnie Walker Black Label.”

Johnnie Walker Black Label Highlands Origin is described to have a rich and dark fruitiness, with red berry and stone fruit notes, crafted exclusively from Highland’s single malts, with Clynelish whisky and Teaninich whisky.

Made from quality single malts from the Speyside region of Scotland, Speyside Origin is a light and fruity whisky with hints of cut green apples and orchard fruit.

Lowlands Origin contains a sweet, creamy vanilla character and notes of toffee and is made with a combination of Cameronbridge whisky and Glenkinchie whisky.

Islay Origin features exceptional Islay malts, including Lagavulin whisky and Caol Ila whisky and has a slight spice and a smoky maritime flavour.

The new range is available globally in travel retail stores with a recommended retail price of US$46 for 1-litre bottles.

The Lowlands and Speyside Origin expressions will be released to selected markets, including India, in October while the whole range will be rolled out globally in 2020.
