UK – American provider of cleaning and hygiene products Diversey has completed the acquisition of Shorrock Trichem, a distributor of cleaning and hygiene solutions and services based in the north-west of England. 

Diversey CEO Phil Wieland noted that the acquisition will strengthen the company’s position in the UK 

“The combination of our businesses will allow us to offer a broader range of products, solutions, and services to both our distributors and direct customers.” 

Shane Mahoney, Diversey’s Head of UK & Ireland noted that Shorrock Trichem has outstanding products “which complement our own portfolio in areas such as warewashing and laundry equipment sales.” 

“We expect to be able to reach new markets and strengthen our combined capabilities for both new and existing customers.” 

Diversey strengthens presence in US and Canada 

Earlier, Diversey completed the acquisition of Birko Corporation and Chad Equipment LLC, a Birko subsidiary company.  

Birko is a manufacturer of food safety chemical solutions for the food and beverage industry and Chad Equipment manufactures food safety equipment for the protein industries. 

According to the hygiene solutions supplier, the two companies have 100 employees in total and estimated 2021 sales of more than $40 million. 

“The combination of Diversey, Birko and the Chad Equipment Division will provide our customers with an advanced range of solutions that protect food, improve operational efficiency and increase the sustainability of their operations,” said Edwin van der Heijden, Diversey’s vice president of North America Food and Beverage.  

“We anticipate enhanced value for our customers, combining innovative chemistry, state-of-the-art equipment and engineering expertise into leading solutions for all sectors in the food and beverage industry.”  

Following the acquisition, Diversey’s food and beverage business will hold the No. 1 and No. 2 market position in every region, according to the company.  

Diversey Brazil bolsters e-commerce capabilities 

Meanwhile, in Brazil, Diversey has partnered with RedCloud, who have launched the world’s first open commerce platform, Red101 Market to expand its e-commerce capabilities. 

This partnership will enable customers to place orders for their cleaning solutions from Diversey Brazil through their Distributor network and make instant digital payments via the Red101 Market app.
