USA – American provider of cleaning and hygiene products Diversey is launching its IntelliCIP (Clean-in-Place) cloud-based data analytics platform globally to help manufacturers determine the efficiency of their cleaning regimes.

Data on CIP cleaning remains almost hidden, along with insights to improve hygiene, efficiency, and other operational aspects as a majority of CIP systems are unchanged from the point of installation.

The new tool analyzes and monitors selected data points, enabling a quick view of CIP processes for any date range, specific unit, CIP circuit, or recipe.

This enables manufacturers to truly understand if the process is in control and also provides them with an opportunity to act if compliance with defined (validated) parameters has not been met.

To Diversey, IntelliCIP helps ensure quality, and traceability by unlocking information typically buried within the automation system, or manual tracking results, the company says.

“IntelliCIP is the next evolution in data gathering in the F&B industry,” says Ruben Jakobs, Knowledge Based Services Leader, Diversey.

“Our solution is a step change, transforming the transparency of CIP data, revealing insight on efficiencies and hygiene regardless of sector.”

Jakobs notes that with the new tool, manufacturers will now be able to determine whether under or over-cleaning occurs.

He further adds that with the kind of clarity offered by IntelliCIP, facilities will finally be able to see if their process is working as expected and adjust accordingly.

Before IntelliCIP, identifying the use of excess resources, or a contamination risk from unmet hygiene parameters, has been largely unexplored.

Diversey says IntelliCIP’s interface can also show where a CIP may be resulting in lost resources, helping enhance efficiency and saving on costs.

Data is automatically collected and analysed to provide proof of compliance with the cleaning protocols, alongside progressively revealed indicators and opportunities identifying where the process can be optimized.

Furthermore, statistical analysis from the tool can give insights on cleaning run variance over time, allowing focused data-driven improvements, while providing more confidence that there’s no negative effect on the cleaning result.

With the tool, Diversey is also confident that manufacturers can track water, energy, and chemical consumption – and the ability to manage their KPIs for food safety, efficiency, and quality improvements.
