DSM recognised among top 100 global innovator companies

NETHERLANDS – Maastricht-based dsm – firmenich, an innovator in nutrition, health, and beauty, has been recognised as one of the world’s most innovative companies in the LexisNexis 2025 Innovation Momentum Report.

The LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions evaluated approximately 16 million global patent families to identify companies demonstrating outstanding innovation momentum.

The year’s analysis underscored the increasing influence of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things in accelerating breakthrough advancements, alongside the growing role of cross-industry collaborations in unlocking innovation potential.

Highlighted in the report were the 100 global companies driving innovation across industries, with dsm-firmenich being named a top 100 Global Innovator.

With over 16,000 patents across approximately 2,600 patent families, dsm-firmenich strategically managed its intellectual property portfolio to protect and maximize the value of its innovations.

This ensures a competitive edge in key markets and enables the company to help its customers deliver what consumers want, what they collectively need, and what the planet demands.

According to the company, in 2024, it made 164 new first-patent publications, reinforcing its leadership in cutting-edge research and development. As the company continues to lead through innovation, it remains committed to shaping the future through world-class science.

Other food companies that were also listed include British American Tobacco, BASF SE and  CJ Corporation.

DSM new plant in USA

This award follows the company’s pilot plant in Plainsboro, New Jersey, launched last year to boost food innovation.

The facility, nestled within DSM-Firmenich’s Taste, Texture & Health Business Unit, aims to strengthen the company’s mission to accelerate global dietary transformation by empowering food and beverage brands to craft delightful consumption experiences that prioritise both health and sustainability.

Equipped with a range of capabilities and state-of-the-art equipment, the pilot plant is poised to guide customers seamlessly from benchtop development to small-scale production, accelerating the journey towards final large-scale manufacturing.

Focused primarily on beverage production, the facility will cater to diverse applications, including juices, ready-to-drink coffee and tea, sports drinks, carbonated soft drinks, sparkling water, energy drinks, and dairy & plant-based products like milk, creamers, and protein shakes.
