SOUTH AFRICA – The Duchess drink company, a South African alcohol producer, has launched a new wine based RTD dubbed Cape Spritz amid efforts to attract more consumers to its brand portfolio.
According to the company, Cape Spritz is a refreshing wine spritzer made from a combination of Swartland rose, sparkling water, and a natural peach extract.
Having only 5 per cent ABV, the new drink is said to be low in sugar and calories, therefore suitable for the calorie-conscious consumer.
The design of the drink is reported to be inspired by the city of Cape town and meant to inspire authentic consumer moments.
Johannes le Roux, founder of The Duchess brand, said, “Cape Town is often deemed the most beautiful city in the world. One can’t help but fall head-over-heels in love with its beauty, charm, and vibrant energy, but for too long, Cape Town has served as the backdrop for imported drinks brands.”
The enticing drink is available in a 500ml can. The producer recommends the drink served over ice, in a chilled glass with sea salt rim or ice cold straight from the can.
A statement issued by the company indicates Cape Spritz sold more than 120,000 units upon hitting the shelves in its three months of trading, terming the response incredible.
The Duchess drink Company was originally launched in September 2016, in South Africa, thanks to the highly successful collaboration of Johannes Le Roux and Inus Smuts.
