USA – Duravant, a global automation equipment company has expanded its portfolio by acquiring Ferdinand Henneken GmbH, a German company specializing in protein processing solutions.

Duravant, known for providing automated solutions to the food processing, packaging, and material handling sectors, aims to enhance its presence in the protein sector through this strategic move.

On the other hand, Henneken is renowned for designing and building equipment such as vacuum tumblers, tenderizers, injectors, and brine mixers for meat, poultry, and seafood processors. The company’s innovative range of solutions focuses on improving product quality and yield.

Duravant’s Chairman and CEO, Mike Kachmer, expressed enthusiasm about broadening the company’s equipment and technology offering to protein processors by welcoming Henneken to the Duravant family.

He highlighted Henneken’s commitment to excellence and innovation, emphasizing the joint effort to deliver customer-centric solutions.

“Henneken operates an in-house technical centre with an innovation hub where engineers develop tailored solutions. The acquisition aligns with Duravant’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of food and beverage manufacturers, especially in the protein processing sector.”

Duravant, with its global infrastructure, intends to leverage the acquisition to expand into new geographies and better serve existing customers.

The company operates manufacturing, sales, and service facilities across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

Kai Henneken, a founding family member of Henneken, expressed excitement about collaborating with other Duravant operating companies, including Marlen, Marelec, and Foodmate.

He noted that both companies are dedicated to delivering value to meat and poultry processors through innovation and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

In addition, he highlighted that the acquisition of Ferdinand Henneken positions Duravant for further growth in the protein processing industry, reflecting its commitment to providing end-to-end process solutions supported by engineering expertise and aftermarket networks.
