GLOBAL – Today we look at a major executive appointment at Israeli food technology company Future Meat as well as other senior appointments in Idahoan Foods, Anglia Maltings, & Planet Based Foods. 

Nicole Johnson-Hoffman named CEO at Future Meat Technologies 

Nicole Johnson-Hoffman is the new chief executive officer at Israeli cultivated meat company Future Meat Technologies. 

She brings more than 25 years of experience across the agriculture, food manufacturing, food service, and meat production industries.  

She most recently was managing director of further processed foods for OSI Europe and has previously served as senior vice president, leading the company’s global operations for McDonald’s Corp. 

Prior to joining OSI, she spent 19 years at Cargill, where she practiced law as in-house counsel and held leadership roles in financial services and beef plant operations. 

As CEO of Future Meat Technologies, she will oversee the day-to-day leadership of the company and will join its board of directors.  

Future Meat earlier this year opened a cultivated meat production line in Israel and currently is scouting several locations in the United States for a planned large-scale production facility. 

 The company, which produces cultivated chicken, lamb, beef, and pork, in December raised US$347 million in Series B financing co-led by ADM Ventures. 

Anglia Maltings Holdings appoints new CEO 

Meanwhile, UK-based Anglia Maltings Holdings, which comprises Crisp Malt, EDME, and Micronized Food Products, has appointed Stuart Sands as its chief executive officer. 

Sands – a chartered accountant with an MBA – succeeds David Thompson, who sadly passed away last July. 

His most recent role was in the US with the rapidly expanding Country Malt Group where he served for five years, first as director of finance, then general manager. 

Coming to Anglia Maltings, Sands has expressed his keenness to get his teeth into the craft bakery and food sectors, which EDME supplies, and establish common ground and opportunities for collaboration. 

New CEO poised to take charge at Idahoan Foods

US Consumer packaged goods company Idahoan Foods has appointed Dale Clemiss as its next CEO effective March 7. 

 A 30-year veteran of the food industry, Mr. Clemiss most recently was president of frozen and refrigerated at Conagra Brands. 

 He had also previously served as president of grocery and snacks and senior vice president of the gourmet food group. 

Prior to Conagra, he spent many years at Campbell Soup Co. where he served in marketing, sales, and innovation roles across the company’s foodservice and retail divisions. 

Planet Based Foods hires new CFO 

Closing our executive appointment roundup is Vancouver, Canada-based Planet Based Foods Global Inc which has named Robbie Rech as its chief financial officer. 

Rech William Blake Aaron, who will focus on his role as corporate secretary for the company which produces sustainable plant-based meat substitutes. 

Mr. Rech most recently was with Hope Foods for more than 11 years, including nine years as chief executive officer.

 During his tenure at Hope Foods, he helped guide the brand to become one of the leading plant-based dips and spreads lines in the country. 

Prior to Hope Foods, he was development director at The Active Network and earlier was co-founder of Thriva. 

Rech has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in management science and engineering, both from Stanford University.
