Ferrero, Wells Enterprises expand product line with launch of ice cream twist on chocolate bars

USA – Ferrero, one of the largest sweet-packaged food companies, and Wells Enterprises, a privately held, family-owned ice cream company, have partnered to launch a new range of ice cream candy bars, featuring three confectionery brands: Butterfinger, Baby Ruth and 100 Grand.

The new products combine the flavours and textures of the original chocolate bars with real ice cream.

The Butterfinger ice cream bar features Butterfinger-flavoured ice cream with a crunchy Butterfinger layer coated in a chocolatey shell.

The Baby Ruth ice cream bar consists of nougat-flavoured ice cream with roasted peanuts and caramel, covered in a chocolatey coating.

Meanwhile, the 100 Grand ice cream bar includes caramel-flavoured ice cream layered with rich caramel and encased in a chocolate shell with crispy pieces.

Isabella Chia, Wells’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “We have the opportunity to bring these iconic candy bars to consumers in a new format, and we know that our indulgent flavours and signature textures will allow them to truly treat themselves. These new ice cream candy bars are the perfect option for candy and ice cream enthusiasts alike.”

Neal Finkler, Vice President of Marketing for the Ferrero Mainstream Chocolate portfolio, said that fans of Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, and 100 Grand were always looking for bold new ways to enjoy their favorites.

He added that the new ice cream candy bars delivered indulgence in every bite and that they were excited to see them in freezers nationwide.

Oreo launch Chocolate Cakesters

In another development, Oreo, a Mondelēz International brand that manufactures cookies recently unveiled the new Oreo Double Chocolate Cakesters.

It relaunched the Oreo Golden Birthday Cake, which was previously a permanent offering until 2013, thus strengthening its snack options.

The additions include the Oreo Double Chocolate Cakesters, a permanent offering, and the Oreo Golden Birthday Cake, a limited-time flavour celebrating the iconic cookie’s birthday.

As the company stated, the Oreo Double Chocolate Cakesters will feature a rich chocolate-flavoured crème filling nestled between two soft chocolate snack cakes.

The product aims to attract chocolate lovers and will hit store shelves on 24th February 2025. Positioned as a permanent addition, the Cakesters reflect Mondelēz’s commitment to expanding its product range to meet evolving consumer preferences.
