EGYPT – Spinneys, a multinational supermarket chain active in the Middle East and North Africa region, has entered into a partnership with leading food and grocery delivery service provider talabat, to bring their customers closer to thousands of daily grocery and household items in Egypt.
Following the agreement, Spinneys customers can order grocery items from a wide selection of food and household items through the talabat app and have them delivered to their preferred location.
The partnership includes 14 of Spinneys’ stores located in Sheikh Zayed, 6th of October, Al Haram, New Cairo, Maadi, Mokattam, Nasr City, Sherouk City and Alexandria.

Talabat Egypt has been concentrating on forming alliances with regional and international grocery stores, to better serve their clients in more than twenty cities, in line with its expansion plan.
Recently, the company added Gourmet, BIM and Beit El Gomla on its platform to allow customers shop from diverse offerings wherever they may be.

Talabat was founded in Egypt in 1999 by a group of entrepreneurs with the goal of making meal delivery simple for everyone.
In 2015, it was purchased by Delivery Hero, one of the most popular online meal ordering and delivery platforms in the world.
The company claims to be the largest food delivery and shopping platform in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with operations in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, and Jordan.
It works with over 25,000 brands and almost 50,000 branches, while its recently launched q-commerce concept, talabat mart, delivers groceries to customers in 20 minutes or less.
By adding an online delivery arm, Spinneys is tapping into food and grocery delivery market which is projected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2021-2025) of 4.9%, resulting in a projected market volume of US$102m by 2025, according to Statista.
