SWEDEN – AAK, a global food ingredients company, has appointed Tomas Bergendahl as its new Chief Financial Officer of AAK, replacing Fredrik Nilsson who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside of AAK.

According to a statement from AAK, Tomas- a seasoned and highly experienced financial expert, is expected to assume his new role before August 1 this year.

Tomas joins AAK from COWI Holding A/S – a leading international consulting group within engineering, economics and environmental science based in Denmark- where he served as CFO and Executive Vice President.

Tomas has also previously served as CFO at Swedish shipping company Rederi AB TransAtlantic and has also held various senior finance positions for companies within Volvo Aero, both in Scandinavia and the United States.

Tomas’ predecessor Fredrik has been with the company since 2007 and worked as CFO for the past seven years. He is expected to will leave AAK at the end of the month.

Tomas Bergendahl, holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Luleå University of Technology in Sweden.

AAK in its statement said that Jarl Andreasson, Director Financial Control & Tax, will serve as acting Chief Financial Officer until Tomas commences his role.
