CANADA – Food-X Technologies, an online grocery software solutions provider based in Canada, has formed a three year strategic alliance with robotic warehouse and fulfillment system provider, Attabotics to leverage common synergies and streamline technology and operations at Food-X Technologies fulfillment centers across the globe.
Attabotics sells, designs, manufactures and implements 3D robotic supply chain systems, which incorporate high-density automated storage and retrieval systems with goods-to-person order fulfillment solutions.
Food-X said that the alliance will implement Attabotics’ technology at its fulfillment centers and partner fulfillment centers across the globe and further presents an opportunity to jointly explore other business options.
“This alliance pairs Attabotics’ leading technology solution with the cutting-edge Food-X software platform, to deliver industry-leading efficiency,” said Food-X Technologies CEO Peter van Stolk. “I am excited about the benefits that this collaboration will bring to our current and future customers.”
Mr. van Stolk noted that Food-X will benefit from Attabotics’ robotic-centric storage and retrieval system to increase its fulfillment centers’ level of efficiency and speed, “something that’s incredibly important as we’re addressing the ongoing dramatic shift in the online grocery delivery industry.”
“Food-X Technologies is a leader in online grocery, and we’re looking forward to working alongside the team to innovate and solve customer challenges,” said Scott Gravelle, Attabotics founder, CEO & CTO.
“Joining forces with the Food-X platform allows us to deliver the solutions the market needs, resulting in improved efficiency, sustainability and profitability for partner fulfillment centers across the globe.”
In April this year, Food-X received funding from the Digital Technology Supercluster to lead a collaboration of some of the leading companies, including Spud, Adaptech, 1QBit, ETG and Microsoft, to develop an e-grocery management system for the British Colombia provincial government and Health Authorities.
In 2018, the company opened Canada’s first fresh food delivery platform facility in Partnership with Walmart. The site features a 74,000 square-foot warehouse and utilizes proprietary technology to provide sustainable home food delivery for local and national grocery retailers.
Food-X is part of the Sustainable Produce Urban Delivery Inc. (SPUD) integrated food business eco-system that includes online retail, community retail locations, commissary/food preparation services and distribution.
