INDIA – German based mobile food delivery marketplace, Foodpanda has added 60,000 delivery partners to its network in five weeks and targets 500,000 partners by 2020.

According to Times of India, is further looking to add another 60,000 delivery partners in the next two months, to keep its growth and expansion plans on track.

As part of its expansion strategy, the ordering and delivery platform increased its delivery network from seven to thirteen cities including Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kanpur, Lucknow, Indore, Ahmedabad and Nashik.

“On the back of increased demand on its platform and rapid geographic expansion ahead, this target stands achieved, making Foodpanda India’s largest food delivery network…aims to grow this network to 5,00,000 by 2020,” said the firm.

Speaking on the development, Foodpanda India CEO Pranay Jivrajka said: “Delivery partners are key to our mission of bringing the best food experience from our restaurant partners to our consumers.

Foodpanda is committed to creating over 500,000 opportunities for delivery partners over the next couple of years.”

Foodpanda which boasts of over 300,000 orders per day from more than 25,000 restaurant partners was recently integrated into the Indian online transportation network, Ola app to give over 150 million users of Ola access to Foodpanda.

In order to get a larger piece of the market dominated by Zomato and Swiggy, Foodpanda is offering huge discounts in addition to Ola support.

“Foodpanda’s complete integration into the Ola app marks a huge step forward towards our mission of delivering superior food experiences to a billion Indians.

This first of its kind scale and outreach will not just enable first time online food ordering experience for millions, but also create a seamless and consistent experience for over 150 million Ola users,” said Jivrajka.
