NETHERLANDS – Following the exit of Hein Schumacher to join Unilever as CEO, Royal FrieslandCampina has appointed Jan Derck van Karnebeek as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 June 2023.

Karnebeek brings extensive experience in the consumer goods industry, having spent almost his entire career at Heineken in commercial, marketing, and general management positions.

He is currently the CEO of GreenV, the international operating group of companies active in the horticultural sector, a portfolio company of HAL Investments.

At Heineken, Karnebeek’s professional journey spanned the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Austria.

It culminated in the position of Chief Commercial Officer and member of the Executive Team at the brewer’s international head office in Amsterdam from 2015 until 2021.

FrieslandCampina signs partnership with Global Vision and Globalworth for a new logistics center in Mures

Elsewhere in Romania, FrieslandCampina is consolidating its operations in Romania into first-Class A industrial park in Cristesti, near Targu Mures – Mures City Logistics.

The dairy signed a partnership with Global Vision and Globalworth for the new logistics center in Mures, having optimism that this new step in the development of the logistics area will contribute to the increased operational competitiveness of its operations in Romania.

Ferenc Szecskó, CEO FrieslandCampina Romania explained that in the new modern and technologically advanced temperature-controlled logistics center, the FrieslandCampina’s team is confident that all their daily activities will be carried out according to our standards and values, and the operational routes will be seamlessly integrated into the logistics chain.

The new center, part of a single roof project, totaling 18,000 sqm of class A warehouse space, will start operations in the additional space in the first quarter of 2023.

The city logistics park is located in a strategic area, right on the outskirts of Targu Mures city, providing connection to road infrastructure primarily for logistics activities.
