FrieslandCampina unveils new global ingredients organisation

NETHERLANDS – The Dutch multinational dairy cooperative, FrieslandCampina has relaunched its global ingredients company, FrieslandCampina Ingredients to explore growth in health and nutrition.

The new strategic organisation incorporates its four individual customer segments: Early Life Nutrition, Adult Nutrition, Food & Beverages, and Animal Nutrition, providing it with a better competitive edge in the global nutrition market.

The segments involve infant formula company Domo, food and beverage ingredients maker Kievit, dairy proteins ingredient producer DMV and animal nutrition brand Nutrifeed.

According to the company, the review better positions it to seize opportunities in value-added, healthy and functional ingredients and solutions.

This advances FrieslandCampina Ingredients into a global company that provides advanced solutions to customer needs for nutritional, healthy and tasty food products.

The realignment also gives it the opportunity to explore the future growth potential in gut health offerings, protein benefits, and personalised nutrition.

The company, however, says dairy remains at its core and it with five regional offices to serve customers worldwide.

“The introduction of FrieslandCampina Ingredients builds on the company’s strong history, which started in 1871 when farmers joined forces in local cooperative dairy factories,” said Kathy Fortmann, who has been named President of FrieslandCampina Ingredients.

“Today, we join forces again under one shared commitment: all our market segments are now serving our customers with a unified offering in high-quality nutritional ingredients and solutions for a variety of industries, and for all stages of life.”

Early Life Nutrition will focus on infant milk formula dealing with GOS, HMOs and hydrolysates, while Adult Nutrition serves performance, active and medical nutrition including a portfolio of nutritional dairy protein ingredients.

Food & Beverages segment which also includes functional dairy protein ingredients, serves the coffee, (milk) tea, pastry, decoration, desserts, ice cream and soups & sauces markets, while Animal Nutrition will focus on animal feed.
