KENYA – Mühlenchemie, one of the world’s leading companies in the field of flour treatment is seeking to set base in the East African region.

The food ingredients solution provider has announced that it will open a new Technology Center in Kenya this year.

The move will enable the company to be closer and better serve its customers in the region by availing a wide range of services

“Being close to our customers is something we consider very important. It is extremely significant for us to understand how we can provide individual service and support for our customer’s specific requirements in the region,” stated Mühlenchemie.

“Our goal is to be close to the customers, mills and bakeries, to offer them quick reaction time, close collaboration and helping in creating solutions together – based on partnerships for changing requirements and future demand.”

The company has been active in the African market for many decades with local technical experts in Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt and Cameroon, as well as a successful Technology Center in Nigeria and a joint baking lab in South Africa.

Mühlenchemie, opened its first African technology center in Nigeria’s industrial heartland, Lagos, in 2017.

The company planned and built the facility in cooperation with Vitachem Nigeria, who had been its business partner in the country for many years.

Being its second technology hub in the region, the new facility’s core services will include assessments and evaluations for the milling industry while offering comprehensive realisation of innovative and cost-saving projects.

The hub will also feature a trial bakery to enable customers understand the challenges, in order to create the best and most economical solutions.

The region’s milling industry is also set to benefit from the workshops and customer trainings the company will be organizing on the premises and customer events.

Also, the center will collaboratively work with the company’s other technology centres across the globe in order to share knowledge and exchange innovative ideas.

Mühlenchemie has also highlighted that its will also avail future exclusive products and services which will adapt to the local and regional market.

“We’ve set up a team of highly qualified Milling engineers, Master Bakers and Lab Technicians to perform trials, analyses and consulting services for the milling industry in East Africa, predominantly Kenya.

The announcement of the entry of Mühlenchemie into the Kenyan market comes days after Alapala, Turkey’s premier milling equipment company, revealed it is opening a new office in the country’s capital, Nairobi.
