GHANA – Budget Cash and Carry Company Limited, distributors of Blue Jeans energy drink in Ghana, has launched the Blue Giant energy drink into its energy drink portfolio, reports Ghana News Agency.

The company said that Blue Giant energy drink is a caffeine-free product and rich in protein targeting high-energy-requiring individuals especially in the sports sector.

The product contains the branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) including leucine, isoleucine and valine as essential amino acids proven to build muscles, decrease fatigue and alleviate muscle soreness.

Additionally the proteins also improve exercise performance, increases muscle mass and energy, reduces fatigue during exercise and soreness and improves liver health.    

Speaking during the launch of the product Mr Asiamah the Minister of Youth and Sports in Ghana, said that the product comes as boost to the sports sector, especially the country gears up to the upcoming sports events.

Mr Asiamah commended the company for introducing the product and expressed the hope that the product will contribute development and promotion of sports in the country.

Nana Aggrey, the Chief Executive Officer of Budget Cash and Carry, said the company introduced the Blue Jeans energy drink, as it remains committed in promoting sports activities in the country.

He said it had also been supporting the development of the youth over the years and would continue to support sports in the country.

Nana Aggrey charged the sporting fraternity to patronise the product to enable them to stay healthy at all times.

The company has been in the race to secure its position as the leading energy drink producer in the country.

In 2014, Budget Cash and Carry Company Limited, secured a 40-acre land in the Ashanti Region for the construction of ultra-modern offices and distribution centres through an investment valued at about US$11.33 million.

The energy drink sector in the country is among the most sophisticated in West Africa and marked by major investments from multinational producers.

These includes the Passion Power Drink by the Entrust Ghana Limited, the sole distributors of the German drink in the West African market.

Other players in the beverage category include Twellium Industrial Company Limited producers of Rush Energy Drink.
