GLOBAL – The upcoming year is expected to showcase beverages infused with global-inspired flavors, such as coconut, papaya, dragon fruit, turmeric, star anise, and coriander, according to Flavorman’s recently released 2025 Beverage Trends report.
The annual report, developed by Flavorman’s beverage architects, highlights key consumer preferences and brand strategies for the year ahead.
Flavorman, a leading beverage development company, derived its predictions by analyzing flavor formulas, ingredient lists, and emerging consumer cravings.
The report reveals that consumers are increasingly drawn to beverages offering a taste of international flavors, reflecting a desire for adventurous and diverse options in their drinks.
A shift in consumer behavior toward ingredient transparency is also anticipated. Flavorman notes that lawsuits targeting functional beverage brands for inaccurate labeling are driving consumers to scrutinize ingredients and associated health claims.
This trend pushes brands to focus on clear and truthful labeling to meet evolving consumer expectations.
The trend toward wellness complements the rising popularity of the “sober curious” movement, which encourages consumers to reassess their alcohol consumption.
Kristen Wemer, Chief Technical Officer at Flavorman, emphasized the growing demand for alcohol-free options, including ready-to-drink mocktails, non-alcoholic spirits, and NA beers and wines.
While alcohol-free beverages are gaining traction, the spirits industry remains robust, with increasing interest in lower-alcohol-by-volume (ABV) options like aperitifs, liqueurs, and bitters. These beverages cater to consumers seeking flavorful but lighter alternatives.
Customization and variety are set to become key drivers in 2025. Beverages featuring customizable components, such as flavor cartridges, are expected to perform well.
Marketing campaigns that highlight new flavors and variety packs aim to provide consumers with a “pick and choose” experience, offering new opportunities for brand engagement.
Flavorman’s ability to accurately predict trends, such as the “sweet heat” flavor craze in 2024, underscores its expertise in understanding consumer preferences.
In 2025, the company foresees a continued demand for innovation, transparency, and personalization in the beverage industry, shaping how brands engage with increasingly discerning consumers.
