UK – Greencore Group, a leading manufacturer of convenience food in the UK, has appointed Emma Hynes as Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company, effective 19 May 2020.

Emma will replace Eoin Tonge, who will step down as an Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer in May 2020 to become the Chief Financial Officer of Marks and Spencer Group.

“I have greatly enjoyed my 14 years in a variety of leadership roles at Greencore,” Eoin Tonge said when the company announced his departure.

“It has been a privilege to work for such a dynamic company and with such outstanding colleagues. I am delighted to be taking on a new and exciting challenge with Marks & Spencer, a key customer of Greencore’s.

“I believe Greencore to be in great shape, with a clear, compelling strategy for future growth and a strong leadership team to deliver it.”

The incoming CFO, Emma, has held a number of senior finance roles during her career, including more latterly as Chief Financial Officer of PressUp Entertainment Group.

Prior to joining Press Up Entertainment Group in 2019, Emma spent over 11years with Greencore in a variety of finance leadership roles.

Her most recent role at Greencore was Group Finance Director where she led a large finance function responsible for financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, financing and capital management, treasury, tax, strategic finance projects, and corporate activity.

In order to ensure a smooth transition, Greencore revealed that Emma will join the company as Chief Financial Officer Designate on 6 April 2020, before officially taking office in May.

Emma holds an MBA from Dublin City University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ireland.
