MEXICO— Groupo Lala, a Mexican dairy company, has appointed Francisco Camacho Beltran as its new CEO.
Set to assume the role on May 1, 2024, Camacho will succeed Arquímedes Adriano Célis Ordaz, who has served as interim CEO since 2019 and will continue as a member of the Advisory Council.
Armed with a Computer Engineering degree and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Technology and Higher Studies of Monterrey (ITESM), he brings over 30 years of experience in the consumer products sector.
His professional journey includes roles at esteemed companies such as French dairy company Danone, beverage and retail company FEMSA, cosmetics company Revlon, and consumer goods powerhouse Procter & Gamble.
Found in 1950, Grupo Lala is renowned for diverse portfolio of dairy and beverage offerings, including various milk variants, flavored milk ready-to-drinks (RTDs), yogurts, pudding desserts and butters.
Additionally, it has licenses to distribute Blue Diamond’s Almond Breeze almond milk label and Nestlé’s Svelty, Chamyto, and Gastro Protect milk drink brands throughout Mexico.
Despite the leadership transition, Grupo Lala continues to perform admirably in the market – in the fourth quarter of 2023, the company reported a 2% annual increase in sales, totaling 24,677 million Mexican pesos (US$ 1.4 million).
Furthermore, its operating flow (EBITDA) surged by 11.7% during the October to December 2023 period, reaching 2,899 million Mexican pesos (US$ 173K), a positive momentum underscoring Grupo Lala’s resilience and competitiveness.
Although Grupo Lala has not revealed the precise reasons for Jordan’s exit, the company’s choice to name Camacho demonstrates its dedication to fostering innovation and growth.
