Gulf Beverages Partners with Dubai Duty Free to Launch Teremana Tequila in the Middle East
UAE – Gulf Beverages, the largest alcohol beverage supply chain and logistics firm in the United Arab Emirates, has announced its partnership with Dubai Duty Free for the exclusive regional debut of Teremana premium small-batch tequila.
The launch will run on an initial one-month exclusive basis, before expanding into the domestic market across the region.
Teremana, co-founded in 2020 by Hollywood actor and former wrestler Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, quickly made waves in the spirits industry.
In 2023, the brand became the fastest premium spirit to sell 1 million nine-litre cases in the USA within a 12-month period and has earned 17 awards since its inception.
Gulf Beverages is overseeing the brand’s entry into travel retail across the Middle East, with plans to accelerate Teremana’s distribution beyond Dubai.
Gulf Beverages Travel Retail Group Business Manager Chirag Aggarwal stated, “The tequila category is booming in the Middle East region led by the cocktail culture trend in the on-trade and also for home mixology. Now is the perfect time for us to be launching Teremana in the experienced retail hands of our long-term partner, Dubai Duty Free.”
Teremana is produced at Destilería Teremana De Agave in Jalisco, Mexico, by the Lopez family.
The product range includes three varieties—Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo—crafted from 100% mature agave, slow roasted in traditional brick ovens, and distilled in handmade copper pot stills.
This partnership follows Gulf Beverages’ recent collaborations, including the launch of Rampur Select, an exclusive edition single malt whisky by India’s Radico Khaitan at Bengaluru Duty Free, and Glenwalk blended Scotch whisky in Dubai.
As the demand for alcoholic drinks in the UAE continues to rise, Statista projects market growth of 1.49 percent between 2024 and 2029, with a market volume expected to reach US$1721.0 million by 2029.
