US—Hain Celestial, an international organic foods company, has appointed Chad Marquardt as the new president of its North American operations.
Marquardt joins Hain from Glanbia Performance Nutrition after serving as chief customer officer for the Americas, overseeing commercial operations across snacks, beverages, and supplement brands in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
Set to assume office on the 25th of March, Marquardt will replace Ari Labell and will be tasked with driving growth in the North American region, Hain’s most important region accounting for 60% of the company sales.
His appointment reflects Hain’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team under the direction of CPG veteran Wendy Davidson, who has been leading efforts to scale the company’s business and drive long-term growth.
Davidson, a CPG veteran with experience at Kellogg and Tyson Foods, has not been shy about making changes to Hain since she took over a little over a year ago.
Last September, she announced Hain planned to restructure its business to improve growth and generate annualized savings of US$130 million to US$150 million by its fiscal 2027 year.
To achieve this, she is making a big change and bringing in a familiar face to help. Davidson previously served as president of Glanbia Performance Nutrition before joining Hain.
Hain’s North American operations have however struggled despite recent signs of improvement.
During its fiscal second quarter, sales in the region were US$267.7 million, a 5.2% decrease compared to the prior period a year earlier and a sequential improvement from the 9.8% decrease in the first quarter.
Marquardt’s appointment aligns with this strategic direction, leveraging his extensive experience in sales, customer development, channel expansion, and omnichannel brand building within the better-for-you CPG sector.
In a statement, Davidson praised Marquardt’s strategic acumen and track record of building high-performing teams and guiding organizations through complex transformations.
She emphasized his expertise in driving long-term, profitable growth, highlighting his valuable contributions to Hain Celestial’s Executive Leadership Team.
