UGANDA – Hariss International Ltd, one of Uganda’s leading food and beverage manufacturers, has marked the first anniversary of its operations at its state-of-the-art plant in Tula, having relocated from Kawempe, Uganda.
This modern facility, spanning 30 acres, produces between 250 million and 253 million liters of beverages annually alongside a variety of biscuits and confectionery brands.
The Tula plant houses distribution warehouses and offices, where Hariss International employs the latest technology and industry best practices to ensure its products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.
The move to this advanced facility has bolstered the company’s capacity to compete in the international market, particularly in the East African Community.
At the inauguration ceremony last year, Yasser Ahmed, the Founder and Board Chair of Hariss International, highlighted the importance of modernized equipment in enhancing the value of locally grown agricultural produce.
He stated that exporting their products to neighboring countries not only adds value for Ugandan farmers but also contributes to the prosperity of the citizens engaged in their production and trade processes.
Founded in 2005, Hariss International operates under the brand name RIHAM. Over the years, RIHAM has become a well-known household brand in Uganda, capturing significant support from the mass market.
The brand’s diverse product range includes popular items such as Rockboom energy drink, Oner Fruit juice, Skyview sodas, Krystal Natural Mineral Water, RIHAM biscuits, and sweets.
Hariss International’s operations have a substantial impact on the local economy, employing over 2,000 direct employees and an additional 5,000 indirect employees across various districts in Uganda.
This workforce includes men, women, and youth, highlighting the company’s role in community development.
In 2022, RIHAM received four awards at the 2021 Pearl of Africa Customer Excellence Awards (POACEA).
These awards, launched by the Uganda Marketers Society (UMS), recognize companies that prioritize customer care and deliver excellent customer experiences.
The Skyview soda maker was honored in four categories as first runners-up: Cx Cultural Adaptation Award, Customer Retention Campaign, Use of Customer Insights and Feedback, and Cx Team of the Year.
