USA – Hormel Foods Corp. is set to see the retirement of Brian Johnson, vice president and corporate secretary, after a career spanning three decades with the company.
In his role, Johnson was responsible for overseeing corporate governance matters, providing counsel to the board of directors, and ensuring compliance with securities laws and financing procedures.
Johnson’s tenure with Hormel began in 1995 when he joined as a corporate attorney, and he steadily advanced through various positions, becoming vice president in 2010.
Jim Snee, Hormel’s chairman, president, and CEO, commended Johnson for his years of service, noting his exceptional expertise and steadfast integrity within the organization.
Johnson, a Minnesota native, earned his Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and later graduated magna cum laude with a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School.
He holds a certified public accountant designation and is affiliated with professional organizations such as the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
In a related development, Hormel Foods also announced the retirement of its CEO, James Snee, who will step down from his leadership position by the close of fiscal year 2025.
Snee, who has been with Hormel since 1989, will continue with the company as a strategic advisor for 18 months following the appointment of his successor.
He began his career at Hormel’s foodservice division and climbed through the ranks, eventually becoming CEO in 2016 and chairman in 2017.
The company’s board is currently conducting a search for a new CEO, considering both internal and external candidates to succeed Snee by the end of 2025.
