BANGLADESH – Paragon Group is currently introducing Hubbard Premium Color breeds to Bangladesh’s poultry sector in collaboration with Hubbard, aiming to meet the increasing demand for colored chickens in the country.
Paragon Group recently organized the Hubbard Color Bird Launching Program at the Intercontinental in Dhaka, where poultry industry leaders and experts gathered to discuss the benefits of these breeds.
Olivier Rochard, Managing Director of Hubbard, provided insights into the company’s global operations and its role in improving poultry breeding.
Bruno Briand, Hubbard’s Global Commercial Director, explained how Hubbard Premium breeds align with different premium poultry concepts and how their introduction can enhance farming efficiency in Bangladesh.
A management session led by Ehsanul Kabir Mosru, Hubbard’s Senior Technical Manager, explored technical aspects of raising these birds.
Moshiur Rahman, Managing Director of Paragon Group, concluded the event by outlining the company’s long-term vision and its goal of ensuring a steady supply of high-quality chicks to meet rising demand.
Paragon Group’s directors, Yasmin Rahman, Mehran Rahman, and Mahir Rahman, along with Kitima Jindamongkon, Hubbard’s SSEA Business Manager, were also present.
Bangladesh’s poultry consumption has been increasing, with the per capita meat intake recorded at 8.5 kg in 2019, while egg consumption stood at 5.1 kg per person.
In 2021, Bangladesh ranked 49th globally in poultry meat consumption, and projections indicate that by 2025, per capita poultry consumption will reach 1.44 kg annually.
By 2026, total poultry meat consumption in Bangladesh is expected to rise to 270,000 metric tons, reflecting steady growth in demand.
The country’s poultry sector is expanding rapidly, growing at an annual rate of 15%, making it a critical component of the livestock industry.
Bangladesh ranked 47th in poultry production globally in 2021, and forecasts suggest that by 2026, production will reach 267,000 metric tons.
Paragon Group started as a printing business in Dhaka in 1952, founded by the late Mizanur Rahman.
Under the leadership of Moshiur Rahman and Yasmin Rahman, the company diversified into the agricultural sector in 1993 and has since expanded into ten different industries.
