FRANCE – Interfel, the French Interprofessional Association of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, is set to captivate visitors at Fruit Attraction 2024 in Madrid with its “Olympicnic” theme, celebrating the connection between sports and healthy eating as the Olympic torch heads to Paris.
Located in Hall 6 of the Madrid Trade Fair Centre, Interfel’s pavilion will transform the event into a lively arena, blending sports activities and fresh produce.
“We wanted to take advantage of this special year for France to connect with the world of sports,” said Daniel Soares, International Director of Interfel. “Our fresh fruits and vegetables are ideal for those pursuing an active lifestyle due to their high quality and freshness.”
Visitors can indulge in healthy snacks prepared by renowned chef Charles Soussin, who will showcase the versatility of French produce.
The pavilion will feature engaging activities, including mini-golf and basketball, inviting attendees to embrace nutrition while having fun.
A raffle offering prizes worth up to €500 will encourage participation, with attendees able to enter by scanning QR codes at any of the 19 associated company stands.
Participating companies include Blue Whale, Prince de Bretagne, Fruidor, and MyLord, representing a broad spectrum of France’s fresh produce sector. Together, they will highlight the quality and diversity of French fruits and vegetables.
On October 8 and 9, social media influencers Sabrina Prieto (@lavidaconsabrina) and Paula Marín (@paulasumasi) will join Chef Soussin for live showcooking sessions.
These demonstrations will focus on the health benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables, emphasizing their role in a balanced diet suitable for active individuals. Attendees can expect to see fresh snacks taking center stage.
Adding to the excitement, Interfel will feature live fruit carving demonstrations by Brigitte Delanghe, a master carver honored as Best Worker of France.
Her impressive creations from premium French fruits and vegetables will enhance the pavilion’s vibrant showcase of skill and quality.
Interfel’s participation at Fruit Attraction is crucial for the French fresh produce market, which ranks as the fourth-largest producer in the European Union. In 2023, French fresh produce exports exceeded 2.1 million tons, with significant volumes heading to European Union countries.
Approximately 30% of France’s fruit production and 23% of its vegetable production is exported internationally, with French apples gaining popularity across the Middle East, Asia, and South America. Soares emphasized, “For us, Fruit Attraction is a key opportunity to improve our competitiveness, increase our market share, and open new international markets.”
Fruit Attraction is one of the world’s most significant trade fairs for the fruit and vegetable sector, providing a vital meeting point for industry professionals.
Organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, the event attracts exhibitors and visitors from across the globe. The 2023 edition marked a record year, featuring over 2,000 exhibitors from 56 countries and attracting more than 100,000 trade visitors.
Scheduled for October 8 to 10, the 2024 edition promises to be even more expansive, with Andalusia as the Guest Region.
The fair will occupy 10 halls, showcasing a diverse array of innovations, including the new Innova&Tech area, which focuses on biotech and smart agriculture.
