ISRAEL – Israel based plant-based food startup, Yofix Probiotic Ltd has launched its first dairy-free, soy-free yogurt alternative line, expanding its plant-based food and drinks platform.
The new line produces three fruit flavors made from natural ingredients using zero-waste process that involves fermentation.
According to the company, the product utilizes live probiotic cultures and prebiotic fibers contained in them to provide a nutritional and expedient diet for especially vegans.
Manufacturers are gradually innovating products that not only meet consumer demand but also address the nutritional and quality requirements.
Consumers are increasingly conforming to vegan and flexitarian diets, seeking plant-based dairy alternatives to address the lactose intolerance and sensitivity.
The company said the dairy-free range was developed through Yofix’s advanced technology, Bio 5 formula to achieve stability and texture without the use of additives such as gums, thickeners, sugars or colours.
The ingredients used in our products are simply grains, seeds, fruit and live cultures.
“Yofix will be launched globally,” said Steve Grun, CEO of Yofix.
“And, we will be developing new plant-based dairy substitutes for milk, yogurt drinks, cream cheese, coffee creamers and even ice cream.
Our proprietary manufacturing technology and formulations are highly flexible and require minimum investment for versatility.”
Making eco-friendly products
The production features an environmentally friendly process, thus helping in reducing the carbon footprint by the company.
Since there is no use of cow milk, it eliminates the release of emissions into the environment and unlike almond or cashew, does not require a great amount of water.
All raw materials utilized in production remain in the final product to ensure zero waste during the production process.
“Increasingly important to health-minded consumers is the health of the environment, driving them toward sustainable products that leave a minimum footprint.
Yofix offers a new-generation yogurt alternative that hits all the marks for flavor, texture, nutrition, and eco-friendliness,” said the company.
Last month, the company launched ONLY brand, plant-based yogurt line with Strauss Dairies in Israel.
Yofix was the recently announced winner of €100,000 grant through PepsiCo’s European Nutrition Greenhouse Programme.
