USA – NH Foods, through its US subsidiary Day-Lee Foods, has finalized an agreement to acquire LJD Holdings Group, a US-based poultry processor.
While the exact financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, the acquisition is set to expand NH Foods’ presence in the US meat processing industry.
LJD Holdings Group, which operates under brands like Mountain View Packaging and Tamarack Foods, specializes in processed chicken products, primarily serving the US market.
The company has long partnered with Day-Lee Foods, and NH Foods cited the strength of this existing relationship in its announcement.
In a statement, NH Foods emphasized the growing demand for frozen foods in the US, forecasting a continued high rate of growth in the sector.
To meet this demand, the company sees the need for new manufacturing facilities and an increase in production capacity alongside Day-Lee Foods’ current operations.
With manufacturing sites across the eastern and western regions of the US, LJD Holdings Group’s facilities are expected to strengthen NH Foods’ ability to cater to this expanding market.
As part of the agreement, LJD Holdings Group will become a consolidated subsidiary of NH Foods beginning in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025.
For the first half of fiscal year 2025, NH Foods reported net sales of US$4.46 billion, a 4.9% increase from the previous year.
Business profits grew by 8.5%, totaling US$179.5 million, but profit before tax dropped 8.6%, amounting to US$191.3 million.
Net profit attributable to the parent company decreased by 10.6%, to US$121.8 million.
Looking ahead, NH Foods is projecting net sales of US$9.06 billion for the full fiscal year 2025, a 2.8% increase from the previous year’s total.
