USA – Jarrett Foods has confirmed that its President, Terry Willis, is stepping down from his role, with the announcement made on Nov. 12.
Willis joined the company in the latter part of 2023, a period marked by construction and renovations of Jarrett Foods’ poultry processing plant and headquarters in northeast Georgia.
The company’s chief executive officer, Heath Jarrett, acknowledged Willis’s contributions during his tenure.
“Terry was involved from the beginning—from early concept discussions through the plant’s construction and launch, his dedication was evident every step of the way,” said Jarrett.
The retirement comes as Jarrett Foods is making strides in expanding its operations.
This summer, the company began production at its 53,972-square-foot facility in Canon. Initial operations launched with a staff of 70 employees, though there are plans to grow the workforce to 300 as production ramps up.
The newly operational facility is dedicated to a variety of poultry processing services, including whole bird cut-up, custom deboning of breast and thigh portions, hand portioning of breasts and tenders, marination, and re-packing.
In addition to Willis’s retirement, Jarrett Foods has experienced other recent changes within its leadership.
This has not been the only management shakeup in the company in recent months.
In September, the company appointed Chantel Carrillo as its new quality assurance manager, bringing nearly 20 years of expertise in food processing quality control to the team.
Carrillo’s responsibilities will focus on ensuring that all products meet or exceed the rigorous standards and regulatory guidelines of the poultry industry.
Jarrett Foods completed its headquarters renovation and expansion in July 2024, marking a significant milestone for the company.
CEO Heath Jarrett expressed optimism about the facility’s new capabilities.
“We’re pleased to have our processing plant up and running. It enables us to provide a range of poultry products tailored to each client’s specifications,” he stated.
The facility’s range of services includes custom processing options for poultry products, with offerings such as custom breast and thigh deboning, hand portioning, marination, and re-packing services, making Jarrett Foods a huge player in northeast Georgia’s poultry industry.
