NIGERIA – Jumia Foods, a leading food delivery platform in Africa, has partnered with Nigeria’s fresh food chain, So Fresh, to enable increased delivery of fresh and healthy foods in Nigeria.
Speaking while announcing the partnership, Managing Director of So Fresh, Goke Balogun, insisted that the company is committed to promoting healthy eating habits in Nigeria while inspiring consumers to live “fresh and healthily.”
Additionally, the Managing Director of Jumia Foods, Guy Futi, said the partnership would promote growth in sales for the two companies as the online food ordering platform seeks to add more groceries and retailers to its list.
“As a business, we are always looking for new ways to serve our customers, such as through a partnership like this.
“I am particularly excited with So Fresh because this is an opportunity for us to support and sustain healthy lifestyle among Nigerians through the consumption of fresh foods which customers can now order from So Fresh on Jumia Food.
“We remain focused on putting all our efforts into growing the business and becoming the largest on-demand platform in Nigeria”, Futi said.
Balogun highlighted that with the nine physical outlets operated by So Fresh, the company sought to expand its diversity by including an online food delivery platform to increase convenience for its customers.
“This is a natural partnership because Jumia Food is the leading and most reliable online food delivery platform in Nigeria while So Fresh is the number 1 healthy food chain in the country.
We pioneered the healthy food industry in Nigeria and Jumia Food will help us deliver meals to our customers from the convenience of their homes and offices,” he said.
Balogun added that the company works with small-scale farmers across the country as well as third-party wholesalers to deliver farm-fresh products to Nigerians.
“About 30 per cent of our farm products come from farmers and 70 per cent from wholesalers. We want to increase our partnership with farmers so they get the bulk of the revenues from So Fresh.
“We will actively continue to drive our expansion across Lagos and other parts of the country and in the long run, this will enable more people to get on the healthy eating lifestyle.
“We, therefore, assure our customers that we are constantly striving to attain the highest standards in food safety, quality and most importantly customer satisfaction,” he said.
Chief Operating Officer (COO), So Fresh, Abimbola Balogun, expressed satisfaction over the partnership, saying that it would strengthen and facilitate ease of doing business, which would enhance growth for both brands.
“So Fresh is well positioned to enrich our lives through its nutritious meals, ranging from salads to smoothie, which caters for breakfast launch and dinner,” she added.
